St. Stephen Baptist Church
Pastor Charles Harvey Jr. hails from Tipton County, having spent his formative years in Covington, TN, under the care of his parents, Charles Harvey Sr. and the late Willie Mae Starks. He is happily married to Kimberly Harvey, and together they are blessed with six children.

Pastor Harvey embraced Christianity at the age of 12 under the guidance of Pastor John C. Parks at Willow Grove Baptist Church in Covington, TN. During this time, he actively participated as a member of the choir and male chorus. His divine calling came at the age of 21 under the mentorship of Pastor Charles A. Hayes at the same church. Additionally, he completed his education at Covington High School in 1989.

He served under the guidance of Pastor Charles A. Hayes for fifteen years, from 1992 to 2007, and collaborated with his cousin, Pastor Jody Starks, for three years from 2007 to 2010. Subsequently, in 2010, he commenced serving under the esteemed leadership of Pastor Dr. James A. Adams, who led St. Stephen Baptist Church of Memphis, TN, and Hammond Grove Baptist Church of Arlington, TN.

Pastor Harvey participated in the National Baptist Conference and Convention, the Tennessee Regular BME Convention and Conference, and the Friendship District Association.

Following the transition of his predecessor, Dr. Adams, on May 9th, Pastor Harvey assumed leadership of St. Stephen Baptist Church on September 26, 2021.
